This is the $100 snow crab from Ah Yah Seafood Restaurant. It’s $100 for just one single crab. After the recent episode with $30 prawns ($239 for 8 prawns) at Newton Circus Food Centre, this $100 crab sounds awfully expensive too. But this crab is really huge. (Yeah, apparently so were the prawns.) The crab fed a table of like 8 adults I think. So it really is a big crab. Whether it is worth $100 is another matter of course.
The crab meat was nice. It was steamed with egg white. But personally, I imagine a few smaller crabs, enough to feed the same number of people, would probably cost less and still be just as delicious.
Overall the food is “not bad”. I’m feeling critical today, so I’m not dishing out praises generously. But I suppose the food can be rated “got standard”. I enjoyed their dim sum.
The restaurant was really crowded. Good times or bad times, Singaporeans really enjoy eating.
