Just came across this funny sign yesterday at a nearby neighbourhood makan place. Yes, cars have adjustable engine volumes. It’s not the size (c.c.) of the engine, but the loudness of the engine noises. Just like your radio or TV has a volume control, car engines too have a control to adjust the engine loudness. I guess that would be the car’s gas pedal of course. Step on it, the engine makes more noise. Although, I tend to think that some cars must really have an independent engine volume control knob to control the engine noise even while running idle. Or perhaps there is a loudness switch to control whether or not to engage an exhaust muffler.
Ok if you’re in this neighbourhood, it’s ok to blast your car audio system, but remember to keep your engine volume down!
