Upgrade to WordPress 2.3
[photopress:ScreenShot001.png,thumb,pp_image]WordPress 2.3 has just been released a few hours ago, and I’ve got this site upgraded… during a break between meetings. 
There was a glitch with SideBlog screwing up the front page, but an upgrade to a newer version that was available fixed it. There was also another glitch with the Nokia lifeblog API, due to the change in the underlying database schema for handling categories, but fortunately that was also easily fixed.

Hi, maybe you could tell us some more about how you solved the problem with nokia lifeblog api and wordpress 2.3. i have been busy with it also, but had some troubles with putting it up. the phone put them on my website but gives an error afterwards but strangely enough the pictures are put on my website but not under the category i say the lifeblog api to put them, he puts them under uncategorized. so i downgraded again to 2.2
would be great if you could let us know on suppengabel how you solved it!!

The trouble stems from WordPress’ new term/taxonomy tables. So all I’ve done is a simple fix to get the lifeblog.php API to use the new tables.
It seems the suppengabel site doesn’t allow new comments. Here’s the diff file against the 0.1.0 version anyway. Hope it helps.

Thank you very much for your reply. So if i understand it right. This file is your “lifeblog api” php file for the root? I mean i can adjust the user and password and category and then it works? It looks much shorter then suppengabels!?

It’s a diff file against the original, i.e. you have to merge my changes into the original file using a program like ‘patch’.
Ok, here’s the entire file you need (drop in replacement to the original lifeblog.php):

Remember to rename it to lifeblog.php (I can’t put the .php extension online without WordPress getting mucked up).
Sorry, I’m a bit of a programmer, so I tend to prefer distributing diffs rather than reproduce the entire file.

(wordpress 2.3, php 5.2, lifeblog 0.1.0_2.3)
You sure your password is correct? Remember the user name and password is hard coded inside the lifeblog.php file. It is not taken from the WP database.

thanks a lot for fixing the bug with the lifeblog script and the new wordpress release.

Ok great you’ve gotten the patch uploaded. My apologies for not doing it sooner. It was a quick hack to make things work for me, although I’m not sure if it is really working properly (yah, tested on only one phone… mine).
I had wanted to just leave a comment on your site to say “hey this is what works for me…”, then saw that oops you’ve moved the stuff to sourceforge, so I thought I’d better test more first and which I have yet to get around doing.
Okay its working for me. The only thing is i cant get the posts to the proper category. But thats i guess a wordpress thingie?

How are you going with wordpress 2.3.1 and the Nokia N-series on lifeblogging? I still haven’t been able to get through the “item is to be posted� mentioning on the phone. How are your experiences with it?
All settings are okay and tried several versions of lifeblog.php.

Actually the WordPress 2.5.x did not create new compatibility problems for Lifeblog. If your lifeblog works with WordPress 2.3.x (when the new tagging system was introduced), then it should still work now. It does for me. What problems are you facing? Incidentally are you using lifeblog4wp, or the Phoneboy’s lifeblog version? (Yes there is more than one variant in distribution.)
The WordPress 2.5.x and mobile N73 is OK.
But the PC Lifeblog 2.5.224 did not create Account。

I’m using the lifeblog4wp version. Perhaps you could try that out to see if it works better for you. I have no experience the PhoneBoy’s version (wp-lifeblog).
Sorry. But I sure using the lifeblog4wp version too. And the lifebloglog.txt is it has.
