World’s Fastest Vista Notebook is a Mac

Yes, PC World has declared the world’s fastest Vista notebook is a Mac. How ironic is that? Apple has quite cleverly turned it into one of their TV ads. For those who aren’t aware, do check out their really  fascinating series of advertisements. The series has been running over a year now. I actually do return to the site from time to time to check out any updates. They’re really funny and hilarious. Some nice entertainment during this holiday season.

Nokia N82 Does Not Stand Out

No, unfortunately, I don’t think the Nokia N82 stands out after all. Although just simply based on technical specifications the N82 seems like a worthy challenger to Nokia’s premium N95 8GB, it’s a different story once you start comparing usability features. Of course, usability is a subjective matter, so let’s agree to disagree if you disagree with me, alright?

Getting Lost with Clueless@SG

Just taking a quick swipe at a pet topic: Wireless@SG is lost. Lost as in it doesn’t know where it is. I was at NUH today. Surprise, Wireless@SG was working and I could login. But bigger surprise: The SingTel web page said “Welcome to Toa Payoh”! NUH in Toa Payoh? Luckily we don’t depend on Wireless@SG to get our bearings.

If You’re Not American, You’re 3rd Class

Sometimes I just can’t help but think that some Americans don’t realize that the world is much larger than their country. The latest episode comes from a DNS report generated by DNSStuff.com which gave a score of “F” for my domain (at work). Why “F”? The scoring methodology and conclusions it tries to draw from the test results are simply and totally illogical. It seems to underscore their presumption that the US is the whole world. If you’re not in…

N-Gage Still Waiting

Nokia is reviving their N-Gage gaming platform. This time, the N-Gage takes the form of a software application that is installed in compatible Nseries phones. Recent phones such as the Nokia N81 8GB, N82, and N95 8GB already come with a preview N-Gage application pre-installed. The actual release was originally promised in November, but was later postponed to December.

Apple Goes After Singapore iPhone Hacks

It seems that Apple has decided not to put up with hacked iPhones that are selling in Singapore. They have issued email warnings to several sellers, both the brick and motar shops as well as online sellers. This is rather unusual since, I think, Apple hasn’t issued specific warnings to other hacked iPhone sellers elsewhere. Ok, no more hacked iPhones for Xmas.

Mobile Phones for the Armed Forces

Let’s be honest, mobile phones have become a necessity, even in the armed forces. Nowadays with just about everyone carrying a camera phone, and the armed forces still in their archaic ages trying to ban camera phones… what to do when you go NS or ICT? Ok, phones without cameras aren’t so rare yet. But let’s move along a bit. 3G is getting more prevalent. People like me want to web surf (with a proper HTML web browser), download emails,…
