Filling Tires with Nitrogen

One of my tires needed to be changed as it was leaking air slowly. Actually, all of them needed to get changed anyway as they were getting quite worn out. So this afternoon, I headed over to AutoBacs. It’s near my house, and they open on Sundays. Ok, so there I was with AutoBacs people recommending the right tire for me. Then I learnt something new: They fill the tires with nitrogen. They had a “promotion” where if I bought…

The McGriddles

I didn’t realize it was actually McMuffins sandwiched with pancakes. Yucks. I like pancakes, I like McMuffins. But I don’t like them combined. — Posted from my N95 Lifeblog.

Software v20.0.016 for N95 8GB

Yesterday was a software upgrade day. Mozilla released Firefox 2.0.0.13, Apple released Safari 3.1.1, and finally Nokia N95 8GB software v20.0.016 became available for update through the NSU. Many N95 8GB owners were eagerly anticipating the availability of this software update, because one of the new features included automatic screen rotation. I haven’t seen the official update announcement from Nokia’s Device software update website, but you can check the unofficial changelogs from Symbian Web Blog.

Eat all you can, but be warned…

Singaporeans love buffet. Pay a fixed price, and they get to stuff themselves with as much food as they wish. So how can buffet restaurants cope? Put up warning signs! Signs that tell diners about food borne illnesses. Signs that dish out advice about consumption in moderation, etc. Eat all you can, but be warned that “management cannot be held responsible for any allergies that may arise…” Still determined to eat your fill?

RotateMe for Nokia Phones

RotateMe, a screen rotation application written by Samir, rotates your phone’s screen to portrait or landscape mode depending on the orientation of the handset. It is a fun application, particularly to show off to iPhone owners who think only the iPhone does this. A cool trick to have on your phone. The problem is that it isn’t so simple to get RotateMe installed. There are endless forum postings about installing RotateMe. In fact, I too had been struggling to figure…

My Baby Eyes The Mac

Look at how this baby is all over the Mac notebook. I think she totally wants to own this Mac. Nevermind that it is a bit dated and no where as slick as the latest MacBook Air. Nevermind that she actually doesn’t have very much use of the Mac. At least not in the traditional sense of what the notebook is intended to be used for. But still she is having so much fun with the Mac. That’s even before…

Becoming a Photo Addict

How do you become a photo addict? Buy a Nokia N95 8GB, or probably just about any good modern camera phone. Today is only day 6 of April, and guess how many photos have I snapped so far in this month? 144! Plus another 6 video snippets. I am definitely getting very good value out of this phone! I can imagine I’m going to have problems managing my collection of photos and videos. Camera phones still don’t quite match the…

N-Gage Games Costs Less Here

Quite often here in Singapore we find ourselves paying more for the same thing than others overseas might pay. For example, the MacBook starts at US$1099 from the Apple Store in US, but S$1688 in Singapore (should be only S$1517 based on xe.com’s currency conversion). So I’m quite pleased to notice that N-Gage game titles actually cost less in Singapore than the European market has to pay. The only excecption is the 1-day game pass. The full version (unlimited time)…

Bi Feng Tang

This is the seafood fried noodles from Bi Feng Tang at Bukit Panjang Plaza. Had dinner there earlier tonight. About the only place in BPP without a ridiculously long queue. — Posted from my N95 Lifeblog.
