Royce Chocolates

One of the nicest chocolates I like is Royce. They have this velvety dark chocolate with rum that is absolutely delicious. My wife and I chanced upon it many years ago at their (then) only outlet at Takashimaya basement. The problem is that this particular rum-flavoured dark chocolate became a seasonal item. We saw it during one or two Christmas seasons, then not after. Their staff doesn’t seem to have any clue about when these special seasonal items will arrive.

Vanessa Loves Her Bed

Vanessa so loves her new bed. The moment the Carrefour delivery man set down the bed, she was eyeing it. The moment we had the plastic wrap removed and laid the bed on the floor, she climed straight into it and laid flat on it. Then she got up, played around with the pillow, the pillow case, then laid down again. Then she climbed out, climbed back in… funny how a bed can be so entertaining. Phoebe and Rascal were…

STM Phantom Laptop Bag

Like many other things, laptop bags have gone from purely functional to become fashion accessories. One of the nicer brands, though not terribly common in Singapore, is STM. This is an Australian brand sporting laptop bags in various styles including messenger bags and backpacks. I recently got my hands on the small STM Phantom bag, which is designed to fit laptops with 13″ screens.

Free And Easy vs Packaged Tour

I recently had the opportunity to travel with someone who had never travelled free-and-easy before. On the other hand, I have never travelled on a packaged tour, at least not since when my parents brought me on holidays when I was younger (and even then, it was often free-and-easy too). So we had a little bit of “culture shock”, even as soon as at the airport in Singapore (yeah, haven’t even left Singapore yet).

iPhone 3G Has Arrived

The iPhone 3G has been launched yesterday in 22 countries worldwide. First to get their hands on the iPhone 3G were New Zealanders when the iPhone 3G went on sale at midnight on July 11 local time. Although there were queues for the iPhone in most countries, it seems it didn’t quite get much excitement in Italy. There’s now a whole bunch of reviews, reviews, reviews, unboxing and disassembly posts all over the net. The worldwide launch in 22 countries does not…

Problem With SingTel Mobile Network?

Has anyone noticed problems with the SingTel Mobile network this evening? I just started to observe the problem at around 18:55 in the evening, although I’ve heard from others that the problem had started earlier. Basically, my phone could not connect to the network. No signal at all. I was getting out of my house, and some 5 minutes drive away, I got a signal, but a SMS text message I was trying to send did not get sent.

Getting to PageRank 4 and other rants

My blog cum homepage is currently at PageRank 4. It’s been at 4 for several months already, so actually this is not new. I’ve found that getting to PageRank 4 is easy; Getting past 4 seems to be the challenge. But why do we care about PageRank at all? For me, it is something that eventually helps to earn more side income from Adsense. More money is cannot be bad.

Levi’s Jeans At Under $40

This pair of Levi’s 514 jeans costs $219 in Singapore. Perhaps a little less with the GSS on, but probably it’s still going to be over $150. I find this horribly expensive to pay for a pair of jeans. I bought this very same pair of Levi’s Jeans at $39.76. This is just a fraction of what you’d have to pay in Singapore stores. Can you guess where did I get the jeans?

Playing On The Slide

I brought Vanessa to the playground today, and put her on the slide. It’s her first time on the slide, and she was not sure what she was supposed to do on the slide. Initially, she held on to the sides and tried to inch down bit by bit. Later, she also tried to crawl down the slide. She even wanted to stand up on the slide (wah, so advanced liao…!). Haha, I tried to help her into a sliding…
