Sometimes we love going to a particular restaurant or eatery for a somewhat unusual reason. For example, the garlic chilli served with the cockles at 2nd Mini Steamboat Delight. The regular chilli they serve is sweet, and is “so so” only. But the garlic chilli is power. I’ll dip about everything into the garlic chilli.

Christmas Tree Dressed in Recycled Materials
This is a Christmas Tree put up at the Botanic Gardens, dressed up with decorations made out of recycled materials. You can probably make out things like plastic straws, drink cans and CDROMs. Not so obvious are things like fallen leaves and seeds. So often, people make a show of “recycling” by using these sort of materials to make new things out of them. What’s wrong with Christmas decorations that are reused year after year? That’s also recycling eh.
Lunch At Ikea
This is the roast chicken with butter rice at Ikea. The chicken was flavourful, tender and juicy. As for the rice, it looked like they ran out of butter rice and tried to mix up some plain white rice with it.
Mandatory Get Out Of My Way Scheme
LTA recently announced their new Mandatory Give Way to Buses Scheme to commence from 20 Dec 2008. I’m thinking that nowadays buses are getting too much privileges. Very soon, they might just as well have a Mandatory Get Out Of My Way Scheme for buses. Public buses already enjoy their “normal bus lanes”, as well as the more recent not-so-normal “special bus lanes”. They also have the priority B-Signal at some traffic lights. Do they really need anymore privileges?
Customer Waiting Lounges For Car Owners
Car owners nowadays get quite well taken care of by various automotive service providers. Pictured here is the RikeCool customer waiting lounge. It’s a small room, but clean, neat, comfortable and cozy. There is a flat screen TV to keep car owners entertained. Too bad the mini fridge was empty, and the air-conditioning wasn’t quite strong enough for me. It’s quite different from, say, a decade ago when car owners are simply expected to take care of themselves while they…
But Of Course COE Has To Go Up
The $2 COE has to go up, what else did you expect? The 1st bidding exercise for December 2008 has just concluded, and the Cat A COE that fell to a record $2 last month has been “corrected” to $7721. COE in all categories except Cat C have gone up as well: Cat B to $6501 (was $4889), Cat D to $1102 (was $1012), and Cat E to $7589 (was $7401). Cat C quota premium fell from $6189 to $5212.
State Of The Blog – 20 Months On
You have State of the Union Address, State of the University Address, and I will have my very own State of my Blog essay. This blog site is now coming to about 20 months old. It has grown tremendously over the months. That’s over triple the traffic in less than…
The N97 – Nokia’s First Touchscreen Smartphone
Nokia has unveiled details of its first touchscreen Nseries smartphone: The N97. As posted earlier, Nokia was expected to make this announcement at their Nokia World 2008. What is the N97? It is like the N96 with a slide out full QWERTY keyboard. Think of the HTC Shift — which has both touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard. Like its Nseries predecessors, the N97 has “the works”. Quadband, wireless LAN, A-GPS, 5MP camera. Most importantly, it is touchscreen, and it is…
Nokia To Launch Touchscreen Nseries Phone
Nokia is picking up some marketing tips from Apple: Create suspense leading up to a major product announcement at a big event. Much like Apple having their big MacWorld conference, Nokia will hold Nokia World 2008 on 2nd and 3rd December. Industry sources are predicting that Nokia’s big announcement will be their touchscreen based Nseries smartphone which will become available in 2009. The touchscreen Nseries will run Symbian Series 60 5th Edition OS. Nokia is a little late coming into…
