Dozens of Nokia Phones For Testing

There’s a broad range of Nokia phones available here. Flagship N-series models like the N97, N95 8GB. Music phones like 5800 XpressMusic. E-series models like E66, E71, etc. Plenty of phones, all available free-of-charge. Although the target users are really for phone developers to test their applications, even casual users could preview the software and functions available on these phones.

Enjoying Her Chocolates

Just like what you’d expect of kids, Vanessa loves sweets and chocolates. See how messy she gets with her chocolates. Sometimes you’d wonder how they get the idea of liking certain things. It is like there is some built-in programming in all the kids. Chocolates, sweets, donuts, gummy bears… A short update on Vanessa’s excursions to the playground. We were taking a walk again in the evening and Vanessa declared her desire to head to the playground. So we went.

The Cat Got Out of the Bag

Yeah, the cat has finally been let out of the bag. Actually, it became officially announced many days ago, but most people seldom read official news. I would have missed it myself too. So it took an email announcement for the news to really get out, and I became deluged (happily no doubt) with a big bunch of emails. Thank you everyone, I am indeed honoured. Heh, if this sounds cryptic, then let it be so.

Sweet Vanessa

Here’s the sweet baby Vanessa napping on Papa’s chest/shoulders. Lately she’s been in the mood of “I dowan Papa”, so she’s usually sweetest to me when she’s asleep. Yeah, I even get free hugs in the middle of the night when we’re all asleep. I know, because I sometimes get woken up. Lately, the Papa goes to work, while the Mummy still stays at home, so I think Vanessa is getting a little annoyed not seeing me all day.

Downloading the Internet

I’m sort of maximizing the utility of my broadband on mobile plan. After SingTel gave me a hard time defending my right to continue my pre-existing Broadband on Mobile plan, I decided that I need to show them how much bandwidth an Internet user can realistically consume in a month. They were telling me that 500MB is more than enough. It sounded like Bill Gates declaring 640KB would be enough at a time when people were having 1MB installed.

Riders Cafe

There is this interesting little restaurant we visited last weekend. It’s called Riders Cafe, and you’d need a set of wheels to get to it. It is located somewhere off Eng Neo Avenue, near the old Turf Club, in a place known as the Bukit Timah Turf Club. It occupies the upper floor of an old historical two-storey building. It’s a nice quaint place, the kind of place that seems to turn the clock back a couple of decades.

Watching the NDP 2009 Show

Every year, I try to catch the National Day Parade on TV. This year is no exception. What is new this year is Vanessa joining in to watch the show. It’s really funny that, at the start, Vanessa was pretty engrossed with the show, starting with the free fall jumps by the Red Lions. Her eyes were glued onto the TV just like when she watches her Barney DVD. I thought this will be good, let’s see if she can…

NUS Rag and Flag

It’s funny that I should have something to post about the NUS Rag and Flag this year, because I was not actually involved in any way. But something prompted me to write about it. Behind all the glamourous front of Rag and Flag, there is something about student behaviour that comes to light. No, it is not something dark and sinister. It’s their recklessness, indifference, and lack of civic-mindedness that I feel is unbecoming of undergraduates.
