What the McDonald’s Monopoly $80K Winner Wants to Do

SAM_0318

What would you do if you had $80,000 cash? Buy yourself an expensive gift? Bring your family on a holiday? Your mind will probably be thinking right now how you would indulge yourself with that amount of money. Few people, I’d say, will think about giving away the money to benefit other people. Well, it seems that’s what the top prize winner of McDonald’s Monopoly game plans to be doing. Mr Sankararama Subramaniam was awarded the $80,000 top prize last…

Foam Party Comes to Town

2011-12-05 19.45.50

You don’t have to go over to Sentosa for the famed foam party at Cafe del Mar. There’s one happening right here in the mainland too, right in the heart of town. Well, almost. It’s just outside the main downtown shopping belt. It happens in front of Tanglin Mall, at the junction of Tanglin Road and Grange Road. This is a family-friendly foam party, of course. Completely unlike the one at the (more or less) southern tip of continental Asia.

WordPress 3.3

2011-12-13 09.20.36

WordPress never ceases to fascinate me. With each version upgrade, it gets so much better, it makes blogging so fun all over again. Sure, once in a while, I’m disagreeable with a couple of changes. But the improvements often outweigh the little setbacks that I’ve no qualms about updating my WordPress installation. Every time a new version is announced, I just upgrade without thinking. The latest version 3.3 has made a bunch of usability improvements. The most important one, to…

iOS Sales Loses to Android and Symbian

I’m not surprised that Apple’s iOS lost to Android in sales units (17.3M vs 60.5M units), but very interestingly, it also lost to Nokia’s Symbian OS (19.5M). This is for Q3 2011. Okay, I know many people were holding off their iPhone purchase in anticipation of the iPhone 4S release (or they thought, the iPhone 5). But still, it looks like Symbian isn’t sinking all that fast. Fiio E10 Review

2011-12-02 12.10.27

There’s nothing not to like about Fiio’s newly launched E10 DAC/amplifier. It joins Fiio’s line of many other DAC and amplifier products that are relatively cheap yet sporting good quality construction and sound quality. While some other reviewers managed to get a pre-release sample, which may possibly be slightly different from the final production version, this is the real for-sale thing.

Cutest and Most Charming Babies

2011-12-01 20.45.12

Sometimes I think my two babies must be the cutest and most charming babies around. When we take them out shopping, they get offered free popcorn, free kuehs, free raisins, free specials that aren’t even on the menu, free this and that. Hmm, okay, not free money yet, that would be something I would love to have. But certainly plenty of free things.
