Yacht Mary 3-D Puzzle

20120502_065452

Ian was down with HFMD the last week or so. To be safe, both him and Vanessa were grounded at home. We try to keep them apart as much as possible so that, hopefully, Vanessa does not get infected. She had a false alarm with HFMD previously. She doesn’t have any symptoms at all this time around. Vanessa and Ian have been quite miserable to be stuck at home all day. Last evening, Vanessa was bugging me to fix up her…

Thorn Among Roses

IMG_20110423_113644

This photo was from about a year ago, and I had shared it on Facebook previously, but it’s so funny I thought I’ll share it on my blog as well. I was browsing through some old photos in my album and this brought back some laughs. This is little Ian, gate-crashing his elder sister Vanessa’s ballet class. Nevermind that everyone else in the class are girls, all wearing pink ballet costumes, and that his bright yellow T-shirt and blue shorts…

Vanessa’s Birthday

20120331_211432

Vanessa’s five years old today. It’s so unbelievable that five years have already gone by! (Oh yes, and that means this blog site is also five years old!) She’s very quickly growing up, and she’ll be entering Primary One in just another two years (actually, it’s lesser than that). Sometimes, I’d wish that time will just slow down. She’s no longer a baby anymore, at least not literally. But I still want to enjoy her baby-hood. For this 5th birthday, I…

Visit to Farmart

20120306_101251

Yesterday was an excursion day for the kids. The child care centre had organized a trip to Farmart and I was to take Vanessa and Ian on the excursion. I’m sure most people have heard of Farmart, and maybe even a good number have been there too. I haven’t, despite having three kids (though the third one at 1+ month old isn’t quite ready for such a trip). Furthermore, the location of Farmart, at Sungei Tengah, is not really unfamiliar…

Vanessa, Ian and Isaac

DSC_1251

We have three kids! Most people are quite surprised to hear we have three children. We are certainly doing much more than the national average of 1.20 (or 1.08 amongst Chinese). I am, myself, also quite amazed that we’ve come to have three beautiful children, especially when I look at them enjoying each other’s company. Sure, Vanessa and Ian fight from time to time, and little Isaac is stil oblivious to everything, but looking at a photo like this, I…

The McDonalds Kids

2012-01-22 10.11.19

This photo of Vanessa and Ian with Ronald McDonalds (yah, the statue) was taken maybe a month ago. It seems pretty ordinary. Most children love McDonalds right? And Ronald McDonalds is the symbol of McDonalds and their Happy Meals. But for some strange reason, Vanessa was terrified of Ronald McDonalds. Ian, because his sister was terrified, somehow also acquired the fear too. It just seems so strange that they would be so terrified of Ronald McDonalds? So after years of…

Foam Party Comes to Town

2011-12-05 19.45.50

You don’t have to go over to Sentosa for the famed foam party at Cafe del Mar. There’s one happening right here in the mainland too, right in the heart of town. Well, almost. It’s just outside the main downtown shopping belt. It happens in front of Tanglin Mall, at the junction of Tanglin Road and Grange Road. This is a family-friendly foam party, of course. Completely unlike the one at the (more or less) southern tip of continental Asia.

Cutest and Most Charming Babies

2011-12-01 20.45.12

Sometimes I think my two babies must be the cutest and most charming babies around. When we take them out shopping, they get offered free popcorn, free kuehs, free raisins, free specials that aren’t even on the menu, free this and that. Hmm, okay, not free money yet, that would be something I would love to have. But certainly plenty of free things.

Vacation to Hong Kong

20111015_062117 2

Our family vacation, this year, was to Hong Kong. We spent 8 days, two weeks ago, taking our time to visit the things that tourists visit. The two kids came along. This is the second overseas vacation for Ian. We didn’t bring him on our trip to Japan last year, because we thought it would be too difficult to manage him then. They’re one year older now, and so, okay, we’ll try this year. Overall it was a really fun…

Ian Goes to School

2011-10-05 08.28.13

Ian has started going to school today. It’s the same child care centre that Vanessa attends. He arrived at the centre, loitered around the common area with Vanessa for a while, then was introduced to his classroom. He walked right in, straight for the toys, sat down and started busying himself. This is despite another little boy in the classroom crying his lungs out. When it was time for me and the Wife to head off for work, we called…
