At times I’m thinking how strange that she’s so happy to settle into unfamiliar surroundings. When I bring her to office, she seems to be very apprehensive of everyone around her. Perhaps it’s because there are many kids in the childcare centre, so she feels more confident to have so many “peers” around. Apparently she even behaves so well at the childcare centre that her teachers are heaping praises on her. Like how she finishes her lunch. Maybe that’s what the teachers do, to make the parents feel good.
The last few days, Vanessa’s behaviour changed. It seems like she suddenly realized what childcare is about, that her mummy and daddy are leaving her behind, and she’s getting upset about it. This morning, for example, she cried when we left her with her teacher. We’ll just see how she manages the next couple of days.
Update: On week 3, another new kid joned the class, and the new kid cried like crazy. That seemed to have “comforted” Vanessa and she became brave again.
