Isaac’s exactly three months old today. With two other kids to look after, and plenty of domestic help to support us, Isaac doesn’t quite get the same amount of attention as when we only had Vanessa with us. Of course, Isaac’s not lacking any love from us, even though we’ve got to divide our time.
I’m quite amazed at how sociable this little baby is. He loves being carried around. I’m his Daddy, so maybe that’s not so unusual. But I don’t remember Vanessa and Ian being so “easy”. They had days when they prefer one person over another.
Isaac, on the other hand, hasn’t (well, at least not yet) not wanted me to carry him. In fact, when I carry him, he is always so very focused looking at me, as if we are exchanging brain waves to communicate with each other. It’s not just a few seconds of intense gaze that I’m talking about. The “stare” can go on for many minutes. Easily over ten minutes. At the wrong time and the wrong place, this stare could start gang fights. Or not. His is an inquisitive type of stare. I wonder what goes on in his mind.
The last few weeks, Isaac has started to make some sounds, so it sounds like he’s trying to talk to me. He can go on and on, it’s almost like his stare, but not so persistent. Well, it’s still early to expect him to say anything intelligible. Far too early. But it’s never too early to try to teach him who’s “Da Da”. 🙂
I’m just waiting for the day when all three kids can all go out together. Vanessa and Ian are getting much easier to manage now. But we haven’t yet brought out all three of them on our own. I cannot imagine the amount of logistics it will involve to go out then. (Actually, it shouldn’t be so bad anymore since we already have some “experience”.)
Happy 3-month-old day, Isaac!
