Parent-Friendly Children’s Playgrounds

I think most parents with children aged between, say, 2 years to 6 years will be on the constant lookout for playgrounds to go to. There are, of course, plenty of playgrounds in Singapore. But I have several “requirements” so as to get the best outing experience for both the parents and the kids, so the list of “suitable” playgrounds get narrowed down pretty quickly.

What do I mean? Well, we could go somewhere like, say, the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden. I’m sure the kids will be thrilled. But, erm, what will the parents do? Of course, look after the kids while they’re playing, yes, but what about before and after? It’ll be nice if the play time could be planned together with something else to make the best of the outing trip.

I think other parents may share the same “requirements”.

Basically, while the kids play, the parents want to be able to do something too. Like shopping before or after, having lunch or dinner, etc. Maybe we want air-con. If outdoor is fine, maybe we still do want it sheltered. The playground should be free too. If we’re going to a wet playground, then there needs to be showering and changing facilities.

So here’s a list I’ve compiled, some obviously from Googling around the Internet for suggestions.

Central Area:

Western Area:

Northern Area:

Eastern Area:

If you have any playground suggestions that fit the “requirements” above, do let me know!
