NUS Ranked Number One

The National University of Singapore (NUS) has emerged as number one in global ranking. This is in the Dropbox Space Race, a competition amongst schools for eternal glory (according to Dropbox). Furthermore, NUS has also become the first school to reach the prestigious 25GB goal with 15K points, and all that in much less than 24 hours. Yes, the race is set for 8 weeks, but NUS finished in less than 24 hours.

NUS beat top universities like The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California Berkeley, and Harvard University to clinch the top spot this afternoon.

The prize wins every student in NUS free 25GB of storage quota on Dropbox for 2 years.

Clearly, Dropbox has completely underestimated the power of free, and the resolve of Singaporeans to get at all things free.

If you have a NUS email account: Head over to https://www.dropbox.com/spacerace to claim your 25GB storage space. If you haven’t got a Dropbox account yet, just sign up for one. This 25GB of bonus storage is good for two years.

For displaying such stellar performance, Dropbox should consider giving all NUS users the 25GB free forever.

Of course, the race is not over, so NUS may not hold the same spot when the race officially concludes. Oh well, unless Dropbox realizes that 8 weeks is much too long. But anyhow, who cares anymore?

Update (17 Oct 2012): NUS continues to be ranked #1, increasing the lead over the #2 ranked school.
