Buffet At Marriott Cafe

250420092686Last weekend, we had the lunch buffet at Marriott Cafe. We’ve tried their lunch and high-tea buffets before and thought they were quite good, although that was quite some time ago. We noticed there’s slightly more variety in their buffet spread this time (at least the buffet was taking up more table space). It’s still not plentiful variety in my opinion, but at least the food is generally good. One of the new items is the Live Drunken Prawns. There’s also ice cream and fruit juices too. The “main course” items were not much to talk about, but the appetizers, cold dishes, salads and desserts made up for it.

Two of my favourite items came from the dessert table: Tiramisu and Creme Brulee. They were really nice. It’s a pity the Tiramisu dish got stirred into a pudding… I suppose either some diners just didn’t know how to dish out the Tiramisu neatly. That’s about all the dessert I had (apart from ice cream) because I was too full by then. There were quite a number of ice cream flavours, but not simple flavours like chocolate (okay there was vanilla and strawberry, but not chocolate).

From the other stations: The clam chowder was nice. The roast beef was slightly cold, but otherwise good. The oyster was smallish, but it seems oysters have shrunk everywhere I go. The cold prawns was nice, and so were the baby octopus, salmon sashimi and sushi items.

Vanessa loved the spaghetti. She had lots of it. She also loved the curry fried rice, although she didn’t have lots of it because it was  somewhat spicy.

UOB has a “one dines free” promotion at this restaurant (one free with three paying adults). It’s $46 for adults, $23 for children, and free for kids up to 4 years old. That adds up to be quite a worthwhile lunch. Wine is not included, but you can have it buffet style for an additional $35.
