Self-Service Ordering Kiosks

In a bid to boost productivity and increase efficiency, we’re seeing all manner of self-service kiosks sprouting out all everywhere. McDonald’s, for example, has brought in these kiosks to just about all their restaurants. There are others too, like Hans, for example, where I dined at a couple of weekends ago. But I wonder if Singaporeans are ready for them….

No Bola at Cocoa Colony

Many moons ago, we came across this nice dessert shop. They offered, among other things, this interesting Cocoa Bola, which I had blogged about previously. I see their stores around from time to time, and I’ve been meaning to go back there to eat again that Cocoa Bola. We finally got around to making a purposeful trip to to Cocoa Colony. We were…

Cafe Hopping at CafeHopping

I frequent Bukit Timah Plaza quite often, so it came as quite a surprise that there’s this shop, which has been around for some five months, that I haven’t discovered until now. CafeHopping In A Box is sort of a cafe located in a very unpretentious shop unit tucked away in a quiet area of the mall. The basic idea behind CafeHopping…

McDonald’s Upgraded Menu

If you’ve been to McDonald’s recently, you might have noticed their menu has changed somewhat. The contents in the menu hasn’t actually changed that much. They’ve added a couple of new items. What seems to be a bigger change is the way the menu has been presented. It’s now designed to get you to buy pricier items. The new menu…

Ranting on Domino’s Delivery

Sometimes it seems a little odd that despite unsatisfactory experiences, we may still want to patronise a shop, or online merchant. It’s bad, but perhaps because it is consistently bad, you know exactly what to expect, and after all things considered, you decide to still go with it. Case in point. Domino’s Pizza. It’s almost every time I order from…

Pringles Party Speakers

You’re probably thinking about Bluetooth speakers, but these are not. Pringles Party Speakers are old-school battery-powered wired speakers that play audio from a 3.5 mm audio connection. Nothing fancy, but they do look pretty, and you can get them free with purchase of three 150 gm Pringles cans, so why not get yours? The Pringles Party Speakers are powered by 3x…

New Breakfast At Starbucks

I’ve become a regular patron at Starbucks in the last year. They have one of the more value for money breakfast offerings in a certain mall that I have to hang around every week. For $6.90, you get a food item and a fresh brewed coffee of the day. This year, Starbucks has rolled out some updates to their breakfast menu. Some…

Cocoa Bola From Cocoa Colony

While recently out to catch a movie, my #2 spotted an interesting looking dessert shop. Although it was probably the ice cream that initially caught his attention, he was ultimately drawn to this other rainbow-rice laced ball-shaped thingy. I had no idea what it was, but if I had to guess, I thought it might be something like Rum Balls. I asked,…

Treehouse Cafe

I was looking for a place to bring the kids out a couple of weekends ago. Some place, preferably, where the kids could play, and we could all have a nice dinner. A place where we could hang around a bit. After searching among a couple of blog recommendations, we decided to go to Treehouse Cafe, a place at The Grandstand (former…

Frozen Over At Starbucks

It’s a cold, wet, Saturday morning. As it has become my usual routine of late, I’m back in a Starbucks outlet for breakfast again. I’ve complained many times, and guess what, it’s happening again. They forgot milk in my coffee, and they forgot my food item altogether. They also ran out of coffee mugs in the morning. It’s just 9:30…
