One of my favourite snack is Arnott’s BBQ Shapes. It’s an Australian made biscuit that has a variety of flavours. They are all known as “Shapes”, and the flavour I like best is BBQ Shapes. It’s so nice that I am always tempted to finish the whole box at one go. You can find them at places such as Cold Storage, but from time to time they run out of stock and don’t get replenished for a long time. In Singapore, we don’t seem to get many flavours, but when you’re in Australia you can see that there’s actually a big variety.
My recent visit to Cold Storage found that they were out of BBQ Shapes again. But there was a surprise. Apart from the Pizza Shapes (which I like only because it is not so nice enough that I would not be tempted to finish the whole box at one go), they now have Flavours of the World Shapes, and there are three flavour variants: Italian Woodfired Pizza, Mediterranean Feta & Herb, and French Onion & Cheese. So far I’ve only tasted the latter two and they are really good. (I still prefer BBQ Shapes…)
I’m just being picky, but look at my photo of the actual Italian Woodfired Pizza biscuit against the picture on its box. Notice how the actual biscuit doesn’t quite match the one pictured on the box? The box shows a biscuit shape with more red flavour bits. But in the actually biscuit, there is much more of the green ones. Heh. I wonder if it tastes different with more of the red ones.
One thing I noticed about BBQ Shapes in the past was that the boxes in Singapore were less flavourful than the same ones bought directly in Australia. I guess their factory QC hasn’t meant ISO standards yet. But notwithstanding that, their Shapes are still very delicious.
