What apple is it? Well, it’s something called Orin. It’s yellowish-green. I had originally expected it to be the green apple kind of variety, but actually it tastes very nice and sweet. Just like red apples, nothing like green apples. I did some research on the web and found that this is a speciality apple variety developed in Japan, and the Japanese consider it a delicacy. They are grown in New Zealand and Canada (not sure if in Japan or not, which if not seems odd considering that it was developed in Japan). The variety we got at the Fruits and Vegetables Day was from New Zealand.
It seems weird to think that this apple is engineered like a piece of technology product. But it tastes good. Sweet, juicy and crunchy.
