So today, I made a point to order from the other stall. The one not at the corner, the one with stall number #01-133. I was satisfied with a tasty serving of Hainanese Chicken Rice. They did mix up my order though. I ordered white chicken thigh with the century egg, while my friend ordered roast chicken thigh. We didn’t notice the mix up, until some time later. I usually order white, you see, and when I was about to select a piece of the chicken meat to chew on, I was wondering why my chicken looked different. Then only I realized we had swapped plates.
But the roast chicken thigh was just as nice. Usually I find the roast version slightly drier, but this one is juicy and tender. Just like the white one.
The chicken is served on a separate plate from the rice. It’s just $2.50 for chicken thigh (with the rice), and an additional $0.70 for the century egg.
The Dover Food Centre is supposed to be demolished to make way for some kind of hub thingy in the Science Park / NUS / Ayer Rajah area. I’ve no idea when (in fact I thought it was already supposed to be gone). But I suppose it won’t be very long more, so if you’re in the area, try it while you still can.
Here’s the Keropokman’s post on the same stall.
