Amazingly, even the person in the meeting who works in the Bukit Timah Campus has never visited Casa Verde before. The Visitor Centre is very close by to the NUS Bukit Timah Campus, easily reachable on foot. It’s not at the other entrance at Holland Road/Cluny Road junction (near Gleneagles Hospital). I’ve had, more than once, point out to people where the real Visitor Centre is. The one at the Holland Road/Cluny Road junction has a visitor desk, but it is not the Visitor Centre.
Anyway, back to Casa Verde… they serve pretty nice breakfast. This is only my second time having lunch there. Lunch didn’t disappoint though, apart from the queue to get the food order in as the place was pretty crowded. We could not all sit at the same table, and in the end we were split into three “clusters” (yes, we were a big group).
I ordered a Spaghetti Vongole, photo above. It was very nice, done just right.
The only downside about having lunch at Casa Verde is that, unless you get a table in the air-conditioned area inside, outside (although sheltered from the sun) dining area gets quite warm in the Singapore sunny weather. The fact that we’re inside the Singapore Botanic Gardens and being surrounded by lots of trees didn’t do much to lessen the discomfort from the hot humid weather.
