The Most Grotesque Baby Face

The first time I saw this baby face, my first reaction was one of disgust. I looked at it again. Definitely the most grostesque face I’ve seen. It is totally shocking. What in the world is this doing on a poster? On a shop front in an Orchard area shopping centre? I was thinking perhaps it was one of those “shock” advertisements, like how cigarette packs here carry grotesque photos to discourage people from smoking. But it was nothing of that sort.

Cunning Sony Advertisement

I was rather surprised to see this Adsense advertisement on my site. The ad title was “Apple Travel Laptop”, but it was a Sony VAIO advertisement. I immediately wondered, what has Sony got to do with Apple? Sony selling Apple notebooks? So, I clicked (I guess that’s what a good ad does eh, it makes you click through…) to find out. What was the resulting linked site all about? It was about Sony VAIO of course. Nothing about Apple in there. I felt annoyed at being tricked.

Mindef Advertisement On My Blog

I was quite surprised today, while browsing through my own blog, to find an advertisement for the SAF. How curious that the contents of my blog could have been deemed suitable for the placement of an army advertisement. How odd, considering that most of us conscripted into the army really don’t quite like the army. I know, after you’ve been through it, it doesn’t seem all that bad, but I’m sure those still in it think otherwise.

Is Advertlets Serious About Their Business?

Me on my Powerbook G4The recent domain expiry problem with Advertlets.Com seriously begs the question: How serious is Advertlets about their business? In their Quick FAQ on domain issue posting, they explained what happened: “A complication regarding the renewal process of the domain for Advertlets.com. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.”
