Reading the Time

In recent months, Vanessa has taken an interest in reading the time. She’s getting quite good at it. She’s reading from digital clocks or digital watches. No, not those analog clock faces we’ve had to read from when we were young. So it isn’t too difficult for her after all, but nevertheless, it’s a good start. Then I wondered, when will Vanessa move on to read analog clock faces?

Colours of Conversation

I just attended a course on communication skills last week. I was hoping to pick up some tips on making conversation, in order to better network with other people. People networking is an important part of work, especially when you move up whichever corporate ladder it is that you’re climbing. This is one of those soft skills that one has to polish up in order to work effectively.

Attending Class at SMU

The last two days I’ve been attending class at the Singapore Management University’s downtown campus. It’s actually my first visit to the SMU campus, so during the breaks I went around exploring the place a little. I always thought it would be nice to be studying in such a central downtown location. All the shopping, movies, and other entertainment just a stone’s throw from studying.

Non-Ceritified CPR+AED Training

I attended a “non-certified” CPR+AED training course yesterday. Yes, the “non-certified” was part of the course title. I thought perhaps what they meant to convey was that this course doesn’t lead you to formal CPR certification. Well, that was correct. But after attending the course… I begun to think there was an additional meaning: The course trainers were also not certified to conduct a proper training!
