The Line @ Shangri-La

20120430_120915

We were back again at The Line, the buffet restaurant at Shangri-La hotel. It was yet another $29 lunch buffet promotion. The Line serves an international cuisine buffet. Their 16 culinary stations serves a very wide spread of food to suit every taste bud. It was a sort of buffet extravaganza, featuring Japanese food, Chinese dim-sum, Italian cuisine, Indian dishes, and even local favourites like chicken rice, roast pork, laksa, etc. Many years back when I first visited The Line,…

Dim Sum at Hai Tien Lo

20120330_122106

The Wife was craving for some nice Dim Sum, and came across this Dim Sum a la carte buffet promotion at Hai Tien Lo. This is an award-winning fine-dining Cantonese cuisine restaurant located at Level 37 of the Pan Pacific Hotel. With breathtaking views of the Singapore skyline and the habour, this is the sort of place to go to impress business partners and clients. You’d probably think it will cost a lot to dine there. Yes, unless, of course,…

EAT by Fei Siong

20120414_182314

Have you heard of EAT? Not about the verb concerning the consumption of food. But EAT, the eatery that has been opening outlets all over Singapore in recent years. They sell local noodle fares like fishball noodles, minced pork noodes, dumpling noodles and laksa. EAT is a mini restaurant concept brand owned by the Fei Siong Group. The first outlet I knew about was the one at Rail Mall. I’m not sure if that was their first, but this one…

20120415_112118

If you’re a Fish & Chips lover, you’ve probably been spoilt for choice. There are plenty of pretty good Fish & Chips here in Singapore. Decently priced too. Here’s another one. If you’ve not been to the food court at Tanglin Mall, you should check it out. The Fish & Chips pictured here comes Paddy’s The Australian Concept. It’s one of the stalls in the food court. Paddy’s not a regular type of food court stall. It occupies a much…

Dinner at Marche

20120406_174840

Marche has been around in Singapore for a long time. First at Hereen, then at Suntec. It’s current restaurants at 313@Somerset and Vivocity aren’t exactly new either. But I haven’t visited any of them since the Suntec one. So finally, I got around to patronizing the restaurant at 313@Somerset. This is actually the 2nd time I stepped into the 313@Somerset restaurant. The first time I went there, I didn’t actually eat anything. You see, my little baby Vanessa was with…

McDonald’s Spicy Goodness is Back

20120412_204936

Do you like spicy food? I bet most Singaporeans do! In case you’ve not heard, McDonald’s has brought back their Double McSpicy burger and Spicy Nuggets. It’s a seasonal item, so don’t delay too long. Too bad there is no discount promotion with these items. It’s the same goodness as it was ever before – I just headed down to a nearby McDonald’s restaurant to sink my teeth into them! People who don’t like spicy: Erm, you don’t know what…

Sundays at La Tanglin Boulangerie

20120318_114928

The La Tanglin Boulangerie is a cozy little cafe located in the basement of Tanglin Mall. Yes, that’s the mall in the corner of Tanglin Road and Grange Road that became flooded from torrential rain last year. It’s a place I go from time to time, on Sundays (and coincidentally not that Sunday when it flooded), while the kids attend classes at a music play school in the mall. It looks like it’s popular with many other families too, including…

It’s not just because it is free, it’s also because many people really love the ice cold MILO, so refreshing particularly on a hot humid day. ieatishootipost Annual General Makan 2011

ieatishootipost's Leslie Tay telling us something about the Boston Lobster

16th December 2011 was the date of ieatishootipost’s AGM (Annual General Makan). It’s their 2nd Crab Fest, and the highlight of this dinner, held at Chin Huat Live Seafood at Sunset Way, was the 5 crabs and 1 lobster dish. The Wife signed us up for the makan fest. This is the first makan outing I’ve been to with ieatishootipost, and it also isn’t the usual kind of blogger makan outing. I’ve been so looking forward to this makan since,…

Breakfast at Cafe Cartel

2011-11-06 11.09.38

The whole family visited Cafe Cartel for breakfast a few days ago. The kids wanted McDonalds, the Wife wanted something Chinese, and in the end we compromised. What the kids really wanted was hash brown, and Cafe Cartel does serve hash brown. (It wasn’t good enough for Vanessa though, she had to have McDonald’s hash brown…) So we sat down, flipped through the breakfast menu, and placed our orders. Pretty simple and straight forward.
