This is baby Vanessa getting her dose of Sesame Street on a MacBook. She’s getting early training on using a notebook computer. It’s amazing how technology has progressed so rapidly. When I was a kid, Sesame Street was a Saturday noon TV programme. Today, it’s on the Internet. Vanessa doesn’t even use a desktop computer. Instead, she has a Powerbook G4 and MacBook to entertain her.
Sometimes I wonder how we should handle the technology gadgets as our kids grow up in this new age. I think now it’s a given that they’ll all have MP3 players, notebooks (or perhaps netbooks), mobile phones, etc. These are expensive gadgets. Our parents don’t have to spend as much on “things” when we were kids. Now, we’ve also got to worry about these gadgets that can break and can get lost. Then, there are phone voice plans and data plans to think about. It seems rather expensive to bring up kids nowadays eh.
Right now, we’re still pretty much in-touch with the gadget developments. I wonder when will we start to loose grip and become “sua ku” about all these stuffs. Or am I already starting to loose touch… I don’t have wireless streaming music, iTunes server, game console, LCD HD TV with HDMI input…
