Vanessa celebrates her second Lunar New Year today. Although this is not her first year, but this time around she’s able to participate a little more in the activities. Last year she was still too little. So things are a little different this year, what with more kids running around, and more stereo screaming effects around the house, etc. This year’s reunion dinner at my dad’s place, Vanessa was able to join her two cousins running, climbing and jumping around. Her third cousin is still too little to join in for now.
Everyone says Vanessa is getting a little more sociable. I guess she’s getting quite accustomed to interacting with people. Well, she’s coming to be two years old in another two months plus. Hopefully she’ll be able to communicate with more words and phrases by then. Right now, she gets her message across without needing to do much talking, so I guess she’s not terribly motivated to speak. But she does speak a couple of words. This baby… although not speaking a lot, she’s definitely listening and learning.
Today’s round of visiting has tired out Vanessa. We only had… let’s see, four places to visit this morning. When we were done with the last place at about 1pm, she promptly fell asleep after we put her in the car seat as we drove back home. She woke up just in time for us to head out again in the late afternoon for two more places. After that, back home, she’s fast asleep again. She must have been drained by all the excitement with all the kids around her today.
