The Orange Gunner served up by the Cafe on the Ridge looked odd (photo on left). Can you guess what’s wrong with it? The slice of orange has been stuffed onto the rim of the glass wrongly. The “reference” picture in their promotional flyer shows it done the right way, but apparently the person who prepared the drink didn’t care very much about getting it right.

The Most Spectacular iPhone Update
With the just announced upcoming iPhone OS update, Apple’s iPhone can now finally do just about what other phones have been doing for years. I cannot resist dissing the iPhone, because I’m so amazed at how such a modern piece of technology can be missing such fundamental features that everyone just assumes is there in every phone. What are the new features in the new iPhone OS 3.0? Hold your breath…
7.9l/100km Fuel Consumption
Ever since I started driving my current Honda Stream, I’ve never been able to get any fuel consumption reading below 9.0l/100km (at least not under “measurable distance in reasonable driving conditions”). But this is what I got recently: 7.9l/100km. I was really happy. It wasn’t even wholly smooth going highway driving conditions. There were some bits of city driving, although much of it was indeed on the highway.
Buffet At Ellenborough Market Cafe
We recently went to Ellenborough Market Cafe at the Merchant Court Hotel for high tea. They are quite famous for their buffets. I’ve quite enjoyed their buffet for many years, despite the crowd. But I somehow felt different during my latest visit. Maybe I was just being picky, or in a bad mood that day. But I was somewhat annoyed at their inability to manage the crowd. Afterall, they’ve been having this buffet for years. Surely you’d expect them to…
My Best Computer Mouse Ever
The batteries on my Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse finally died, and it suddenly set me thinking about how well it has served me. I’ve used computer mice for almost as long as they existed. Through the years I’ve had used and owned many mice, including variants like trackballs. Some are pleasant to use and others horrible. But the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse, which I acquired in mid 2008, was absolutely the best of all of them. It’s amazing how much…
Suicide
The recent few high-profile suicide cases features in our media certainly raises a bunch of questions. Although many people’s reaction are going to be that suicide isn’t the solution, that it’s such a pity to die young, etc, sometimes I wonder if they’ve spent some time to think from that person’s perspective? What’s wrong with suicide? Why isn’t it the solution?
The Most Interesting Thing At IT Show 2009
Every show it’s always roughly about the same sort of attention grabbing gimmicks. I’ve become immune to them. Well, here’s something quite unique, at least to me. Seen outside Suntec itself, as you surface from City Link Mall. — Posted from my N95 Lifeblog.
Malay Rempeyek
This Malay Rempeyek is really delicious. It’s a peanut cracker snack. Made by Khad’s Kebab. They are around in NUS for various bazaar events until end of this month. — Posted from my N95 Lifeblog.
Apple’s New iPod Shuffle Surprises
No matter how earnest the stalkers are in tracking down new products, updates and other announcements from Apple, sometimes they fail. Once a while, Apple manages to pull out a surprise. Today, the surprise is the new iPod Shuffle, an even smaller version than the previous generation iPod Shuffle. It is only 10.7g in weight, about as light as some of the lightest bluetooth earpieces. It comes in 4GB capacities, holding up to 1000 songs.
Childcare Week Two
This is the second week of Vanessa’s childcare attendance. She seems to be doing very well at the childcare centre. She doesn’t fuss at all when we leave the house in the morning, even when our domestic helper doesn’t send her off. She’s very happy and looking forward to childcare. When we drop her off at the childcare centre, she settles in very quickly without any fuss. She even waves bye bye, and gives daddy and mummy her kisses and…
