Vanessa attended her first Halloween party last night. The party was organized by our condominium. All the kids were supposed to be dressed up in costumes. Adults were spared. Vanessa was dressed up in a pumpkin costume made by my wife, and here in the photo, she’s holding on to her cousin’s sword.
Sometimes Vanessa is quite fussy with her clothes, but she didn’t seem to be bothered by her costume. She’s too young to participate in the party activities, so she just roamed around the function room, probably wondering why there are so many people around. Her cousins came to join for the Halloween party too but it seems they were too shy to join in any of the games (they were of the right age for the games). There were a couple of things going on, such as dressing up scarecrows and a treasure hunt.
Well, we didn’t stay too long at the party since neither Vanessa nor her cousins were keen to participate in the activities. There was finger food, but seems like no one was interested either. I overheard that the muffins were supposed to be good… but Vanessa pulled me away before I could grab the muffins.
So everyone came back to our apartment to continue our private Halloween party, without the costumes. By the time the neighbourhood kids came around for Trick or Treats, the cousins had gone home and Vanessa was fast asleep.
Sounds like the ideal halloween party to me…. Making me feel hungry now though thinking about party finger food.. Love the punpkin costume 🙂
