Boost In Google PageRank

Zit SengI wonder if Google has become more generous with their PageRank scoring? I just noticed my homepage cum blog site upgraded to PageRank 5, with at least one other internal page even scoring PageRank 6. Is this little site becoming a small-time hit? What is even more interesting is that the website of my work organization scores PageRank 9! (They are surely getting somewhere with their goal to become “world class”!)

Well, of course I’m not complaining about the new boost in PageRank. It just came as a pleasant surprise. I certainly have been hoping for the PageRank to to go up. Actually the end goal is not to have a high PageRank, but rather for my site to generate some pocket money. For now, that income comes through the Adsense advertising on this site, as well as the Adsense for Mobile advertising on my mobile phone widget page (https://zitseng.com/widget). It will be really cool if some day this income is enough to do something appreciable, such as paying off my housing or car loan installments, or even just an good portion of the installments. I’m not so much asking to have so much pocket money that I can stop working altogether, although then again that would be something even nicer to have. (Yeah, you ask for “a bit”, then when you get that little bit, you want more…)

How can you increase your site’s PageRank? Someday I shall share a little of what has worked for my site. Right now it is a bit too long-winded than I care to write. But I think there’s not much secret about how it works. You can probably google around to find out the zillions of articles about improving PageRank.

This is a good start to 2009. For the record, the most popular searches that led to visits to this site still remains the iphone pricing in Singapore. The winning article for the most search hits is 3G iPhone Selling Price in Singapore.

  1. Thats so cool. Congrats man. Getting a PR5 is not easy although I dun really know how Google calculate it but then still not many PR5 sites ard 🙂

Keep up the good work dude. If can I will like to be the first to read about how you did it 🙂

  2. For me, PR high helps in generating more money. Just imagine your big companies like Microsoft, Apple, BMW and etc will like to advertise in high PR website. Although it’s not all about PR but still you have a better chance than others. 🙂
