More details about the second generation iPhone have surfaced. According to Engadget and AppleInsider, the upcoming iPhone will have 3G (don’t know about HSDPA) and a real GPS. It will be about the same size and shape, although slightly thicker than the original iPhone. The whole phone will be glossy black (as opposed to the metal back in the original iPhone).
The funny thing that we have to stress real GPS. The original iPhone did not have a GPS, but Apple tried to implement location positioning features by detecting Wifi transmission signals from known hotspots.
I don’t fancy the iPhone actually, not even with the updated specs which include 3G and GPS, though I find myself actively tracking its developments. Apple is widely expected to announce the second generation iPhone at WWDC (June 9 – 13), with the phone shipping in July. Back in Singapore, the iPhone is expected to be available from SingTel, If you’re wanting to get the iPhone though legal distribution in Singapore, you’ve still got to wait a few more months.
