Singapore App Store Pricing Set To Increase

With the strengthening US dollar, it has become more expensive for Singapore shoppers to buy from the US market. Interestingly, Apple’s stale exchange rate meant that we are getting pretty good deals on the iOS App Store. This is about to change, as Apple has notified developers of pricing updates in seven countries, including Singapore.

An app that used to cost S$1.28 will soon cost S$1.48, or about a 16% increase in price. A S$2.58 app will soon cost S$2.98.

Apart from Singapore, the price increases are set to also affect Canada, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, and South Africa.

If you are signed on with some subscriptions, they will not be interrupted. Shortly before your subscription renews, Apple will send an email to inform you about the price increase, and offer the option to turn off your subscription.

These changes are set to happen within the next 72 hours. Less, by the time you read this. So if you’re thinking of grabbing something from the App Store, quick do it now!
