Your inbox is probably flooded with all sorts of Singles’ Day promo emails by now. If you’ve been watching out for what Lazada has planned, particularly of their Surprise Box deals, well, I’ve news here on the Lazada X PROLiNK Surprise Box. Not a surprise that it’ll be an excellent deal!
I’ve collaborated with Lazada on several Surprise Box deal. This Singles’ Day 2018, which falls on the coming Sunday 11 Nov 2018, the Lazada 11.11 (affiliate link) will sell Surprise Boxes of various brands. The Surprise Boxes are priced at either S$29 or S$49, depending on the brand. However, the value of the box contents will be worth at least S$100!
Lazada sent me their Lazada X PROLiNK Surprise Box. There are two items in this box. I’m only sharing one of the item, so the other item will remain a surprise. The item I’m revealing is the PROLiNK PRO3801 Wireless AC1200 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router.
Quite coincidentally, I’ve reviewed this specific wireless router previously. You can refer to my PROLiNK PRC3801 review post to learn more about this wireless router.
Apart from being a typical wireless router with four LAN ports and one uplink WAN port, the PROLiNK PRC3801 has dual-band MU-MIMO support with latest AC wave 2 technology.
Something that also sets the PROLiNK PRC3801 is the support of multi-SSID. In layman terms, this allows you to create additional different named wireless networks.
There are some routers which allow you to create a “Guest” wireless network that is separate from your regular wireless network. This gives you the flexibility to protect your home devices from your guests who want to use your home Wi-Fi. However, this setup is just one additional wireless network, or SSID.
The PROLiNK PRC3801, however, offers up to four additional SSID, i.e. wireless networks, on each of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band. This is to say that including the main SSIDs, which can also be different between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, you have the option to create up to 10 wireless networks!
You can then individually choose whether each of those additional wireless networks can access only your WAN, or both your WAN and LAN.
The PROLiNK PRC3801 official retails at S$99. Even if you consider the actual street price you can get, such as at S$68 from Hachi.tech, just this one item alone makes the S$29 price tag of the Lazada X PROLiNK Surprise Box already an extremely good deal!
I’m also happy to tell you that the other item in the Lazada X PROLiNK Surprise Box is something of pretty good value.
