Their website says “thin crust is available in all sizes”, but when I called, they did not have any thin crust at all. That was Canadian 2-For-1 Pizza. How disappointing. I used to like ordering Canadian 2-For-1 Pizza. One of the reasons has been the perceived value-for-money: 2 pizzas for the price of 1. But over time, their service has declined, their prices became less competitive, and their food wasn’t particularly outstanding anyway. Their service, particularly, has become quite bad.
So, never mind that there is no thin crust at all. Since I’ve already called, I just went on to order the pizza from them. I asked for extra chilli and cheese. Guess what? They were running out of chilli, and they had to ration the chilli they give out. Can you believe it, a simple thing like chilli flakes, they can be running out of it? Isn’t this the kind of thing that you can keep a large supply of? Well, they could only give me one packet of chilli flakes per pizza. They could give me more packets of cheese. So for my two pizzas, they promised two packets of chilli flakes and 4 packets of cheese.
When the order arrived, there was only one packet of chilli flakes and one packet of cheese altogether for my two pizzas. So I ended up getting far less than what I had wanted to get at the start. No thin crust, not enough chilli.
They are not particularly good value for money anymore either. Two pizzas for $21.90 (after their very “generous” $2 discount). Let’s head over to Pizza Hut Singapore. Hey, two Viva crust pizzas for $19.90! Limited choice of toppings, but a $2 upgrade gets you two pizzas from the Family Favourites range! I should have ordered from Pizza Hut.
So disappointing.
Fortunately Canadian’s pizza itself, although not very fantastic, did not become that much worse.
Sounds so weird to me as an American. We have New York style, Chicago style, California style, never heard of Canadian style… And I bet they aren’t even really Canadian…
It’s just the name of the chain, I guess.
