Vanessa had her first buffet dinner at this CNY’s reunion dinner. It’s also her first reunion dinner. We went to the coffee house at Grand Plaza Park Hotel. Vanessa was nibbling bits and pieces of many things. I think she was enjoying herself. She was fussing around quite a lot initially, but her daddy (i.e. me) hijacked her and distracted her with all the exciting things happening in and around the restaurant and she quickly became quite happy with the dinner outing.
This is the first CNY reunion we ate out, due to some domestic logistics problems at home.
The buffet itself was quite nice. Just for the CNY flavour, they had a selection of exquisite soups, including Mini Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Sharks Fin with Crab Meat, and Fish Maw with Abalone. The soups were individually re-heated in clay pots when served so you get them piping hot. Other interesting items include soft shell crabs, tempura prawns and vegetables, a chocolate fountain, chilli crabs, and sea cucumber with black moss. Actually there are many more “standard buffet stuffs” like oysters, cold prawns, sushi sashimi, etc, but well there are just too many to list.
Haha, I don’t know how much it cost, since I didn’t pay… but I’d guess it probably isn’t very cheap. Particularly since it is also CNY eve.
