One of the nicest chocolates I like is Royce. They have this velvety dark chocolate with rum that is absolutely delicious. My wife and I chanced upon it many years ago at their (then) only outlet at Takashimaya basement. The problem is that this particular rum-flavoured dark chocolate became a seasonal item. We saw it during one or two Christmas seasons, then not after. Their staff doesn’t seem to have any clue about when these special seasonal items will arrive.
Royce has a range of different chocolates. These particular ones are packaged into a small flat box. The chocolate itself is cut into 20 little squares (well, rectangles actually). They need to be kept cool, so usually the shop will supply you a thermal bag and some ice packs.
These chocolates are from Japan. There was one trip we made to Tokyo, we thought we’d try to locate these chocolates. We failed to find anything in Tokyo. There were other chocolates that looked like this one that we’re after, but they didn’t taste quite as good. Or they didn’t have rum. (Yes, rum as in the alcohol.)
Well, the velvety dark chocolate with rum is here again, from the Royce’s shop at Suntec level 1 opposite Carrefour.
