American Chinese Food

This is the Chinese meal I had at Florida Mall last week. Looks nice, and good sized portions (possibly due to the fact that it was closing time). But did it taste nice? Actually, I thought it was not wonderful at all. I can’t say it was lousy, but it certainly wasn’t up to standard. I wonder why Americans seem to like Chinese food, given the kind of standard of Chinese food they get there? At least that’s the impression that American TV shows appear to suggest. Is it simply because having some exotic oriental meal makes life (or the TV show) more interesting?
