Recently, I went with a few colleagues to have lunch at Cafe On The Ridge. Despite its name, it’s not actually on any ridge (being at the bottom of a ridge doesn’t quite count) and there is no ridge to be seen. But the place is really quite nicely decorated. It looks like quite a chic place, but food prices are reasonable. Service is up to expectations.
Cafe On The Ridge is one of the F&B outlets at the new NUSS Guild House at Kent Ridge. I believe it is meant to replace the old Kingfisher Cafe. I ordered the Nasi Goreng Kampur, because I always ordered and liked the Nasi Goreng Istemewa at Kingfisher Cafe. This is about the same dish. You get fried rice, egg sunny side up, chicken, beef rendang, prawns, prawn cracker and some achar. I forgot exactly how much the meal costs, but it is under $10.
Like the old Kingfisher Cafe, there’s quite a big lunch time crowd. I wouldn’t say the service was particularly slow, but one could have wished for it to be faster. Afterall, people don’t want to spend too much time on lunch. Perhaps I’m nitpicking a little. Overall, the dining experience was great.
